Process of Expression

Victor Lai was looking for an opportunity to review the significance of sketching/drawing in the painting process and he has had this in mind since over 20 years ago. As part of his art training in the UK, he has been doing a lot of sketching on a small scale. Although the sketches are small in size, the benefits of sketching/drawing are immense. It has now become an integral part of his art making and as such he is delighted to share his joy and advance his passion for art from within.

Art Space Magazine

This magazine focuses on the spirit of community arts and education, incorporating art into the community; and community culture into the arts. 

A concrete wall pattern is used in the background of the pages to create a cold and quiet atmosphere.

HKIEd Creative Arts

This is an attempt to combine flyers, brochures, calendars and posters to meet the requirements of low budget production. Wooden patterns have been used extensively to represent artistic and musical images.

CAAS emphasises the understanding, acquisition of knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts in education, alongside the creation of art; we believe that our specific teaching strategies will help students realise ideas and imagination into real art forms, and bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The concept of this booklet design was an attempt to convey an idea of natural, light and water.

Visual Arts Showcase is an outcome of creative and artistic efforts of the department's visual arts staff. 

Pop Art in Hong Kong: Alternative Metaphor 2003

Artist in Residence Project in HKIEd 2003. The theme of Pop art focused attention upon Art and Life, aimed at broadening taste into more popular and less academic art, and shared an interest in the urban, consumer and modern experience.
